A Day in the Life of an SIBT Student

So, what does a typical day look like for an SIBT student?

Morning: Grab a Coffee, Head to Class

There are plenty of cafes around the Sydney City Campus, and it’s common to see SIBT students starting their day with a quick coffee. With smaller class sizes, you’re not just another face in the crowd – your lecturers know your name and are here to help you succeed.

Classes are practical and focused on real-world skills. Whether you’re working towards a diploma in Business, IT, Engineering, or Communication and Creative Industries, you’ll collaborate with classmates, ask questions, and get the one-on-one support you need to fast-track into university.

Lunchtime: Sydney City is Your Campus

Lunch is never boring here. Many students grab a bite at a nearby food court or enjoy a picnic in Hyde Park, just across the road from campus.

Some students fit in a quick study session in our lounge areas or the library, while others take time to explore the city – there’s always something happening in the Sydney CBD.

Afternoon: Study, Events & Campus Life

Back on campus, it’s time to hit the books or join a workshop. Our Student Wellbeing and Academic Success team runs a workshop calendar packed with study sessions, like maths and English support.

There are also plenty of opportunities to get involved – networking events, trivia, and fun off-campus activities like bowling are just some of the things on offer. Our student newsletter keeps everyone in the loop, so you won’t miss out.

Evening: City Nights

When classes wrap up, many students catch up with friends for dinner, bubble tea or a movie in the city. Studying in Sydney City means that you’re surrounded by restaurants, live music, shopping, and culture – it’s all at your doorstep.
