Diploma of Health

Studying a Diploma of Health will give you a strong grounding in key health concepts, including health promotion, health services administration, community health, anatomy, physiology, and population health, while developing practical skills in communication, evidence-based practice, and professional health practice. Graduating with a Diploma of Health will allow you to transition to second-year studies at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus, or pursue entry-level roles across the health care sector.

Course Structure

The Diploma of Health can be completed over two or three sessions. It comprises of core (mandatory) and elective units. Students will study eight units in total from the list below, which includes six core units and two elective units.

  • HANA102 Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology
  • HINQ102 Questioning and Inquiry: Evidence-based Practice in Health
  • HCHP101 Building Competence in Health Care Practice
  • HDEV103 Exploring Human Development and Disease

Choose two elective units

  • HPSY203 The Psychology of Health

  • SDIV103 Exploring Social Diversity

Your Future Outcomes

Articulation arrangements are being finalised with Western Sydney University for a pathway into the Bachelor of Health Science, including the following majors:

  • Health Promotion
  • Recreational Therapy
  • Health Services Management
  • Clinical Science

Entry level positions for Diploma of Health graduates include health promotion officers, support workers, peer workers, and health education officers.
