Studying a Diploma of Business will equip you with a strong grounding in business fundamentals, such as professional communication, management, finance, economics, and business law and provide transferrable personal skills to drive entrepreneurship. Graduating with a Diploma of Business will allow you to transition to second year of studies at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus, or go on to an entry level business position.

The Diploma of Business can be completed over two or three sessions. It comprises of core (mandatory) and elective units. Students will study eight units in total from the list below, which includes five core units and three elective units. The elective units you select is dependent on your field of articulation.
It is recommended that if you want to progress into Accounting you should choose Introductory Accounting (BACC201) as your first elective unit, and Intermediate Accounting (BACC202) as your third elective unit. Introduction to Statistics (ISTA202) should be your second elective unit.
To progress into Finance choose Introduction to Statistics (ISTA202) as one of your elective units.
To progress into Marketing choose Principles of Marketing (BMKT202) as one of your elective units.
To progress into Management choose Organisational Behaviour (BORG202) as one of your elective units.
International Business should choose electives based on personal preference.

Successful completion of an SIBT Diploma will allow you to enter a bachelor’s degree at Western Sydney University, Sydney City Campus with eight units of credit. Our friendly Student Advisors will help you to choose the most appropriate elective units for your program.
Using the Diploma as a stand-alone qualification will allow you to progress to entry level positions in a broad range of fields including marketing, sales, advertising, finance, business administration, business analysis, accounting, and human resources. The strong grounding in business will also equip you as an entrepreneur to start and run a business, either as sole proprietors or as part of a larger company.

Bachelor of Business
Depending on your major, successful completion of your Bachelor of Business at Western Sydney University will pave the way for you to join Australia’s leading Industry bodies, like CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) and the Australian Property Institute.
Bachelor of Accounting
The Bachelor of Accounting holds triple accreditation with CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Depending on your majors, you may also be eligible to become a member of the Financial Planning Association or register with the Tax Practitioners Board as a tax agent.
