Course structure

The course can be completed over two or three sessions. Students will study 8 core units in total from the list below.

  • ENGN120 Materials Science and Engineering
  • MATH099 Foundations of Mathematics OR MATH100 Mathematics A*
  • ENGN130 Computing for Engineers
  • MATH100 Mathematics A OR  MATH101 Mathematics B
  • ENGN110 Principles of Electric Circuits
  • ENGN101 Physics
  • ENGN150 Fundamentals of Engineering Studies

*You will be required to undertake a Maths Readiness Test prior to finalising enrolment. The Readiness Test will determine if you will need to take an additional support maths program and which maths unit you will study in Session 1.

Assumed knowledge

To meet the entry requirements for this diploma program, it is assumed that students have completed Australian year 12 maths or equivalent. If not, students may be required to study a bridging subject or support maths program.
