61.jpgSIBT now has the same semester dates and one timetable across the two campus locations. This means that you can now design your timetable to study some units at SIBT in the City and some at the SIBT campus at Ryde.

For example, if you are a Diploma of Commerce student you might choose to do ACST101 in the city on Tuesday, MKTG101 and ACCG101 at Ryde on Wednesday and then head back to the City on Thursday for ISYS123.

You will have the flexibility to experience both campus lifestyles while still graduating with the same high quality SIBT Diploma.

Why is SIBT doing this?

SIBT wants to give students the ability to choose a timetable that suits their individual needs. Some students may choose to study all units at one campus, whereas for others, it is an opportunity to experience two different campus environments. No other pathway provider gives students this flexibility or choice.

Can all SIBT students study at two locations in the same semester?

All Diploma and Advanced Diploma students have the option to enrol in 100 level units at either campus. Students enrolled in Certificate IV in Foundation Studies or studying 200 level units for the Advanced Diploma will need to study their units at the Ryde campus.

ibte0837.jpgWhat are the benefits of choosing to study some units at SIBT in the city?

It’s convenient! We understand it is often easier to get to the city, so studying some units in the CBD could cut down your travel time and make life a little easier.

You can take advantage of the new railway line that operates between Macquarie University and Wynyard. SIBT in the City is located directly above Wynyard station, so it is quick and convenient to travel door to door. Please note that you currently need to change trains at Chatswood Station, with a direct train link opeing in November 2009.

You can now experience two different study lifestyles

As the hub of Sydney’s business and social activity, the CBD offers a variety of options to socialise with friends and classmates. Share lunch with friends in Hyde Park or the Rocks, or go to the movies after class – the new experiences are endless

Increased opportunities for part-time work

Studying in the city gives you the chance to gain part-time work close to the campus and obtain valuable work experience. At the same time working close to University means you can more easily divide your time between study and employment.

Same high quality education
It’s only the location that is different. Choose to study at the City or Ryde campuses and you will graduate with the same high quality Diploma.

Where is SIBT’s City Campus?

The SIBT city campus is located at Wynyard Green, 11 York Street. This is directly above Wynyard train station in the heart of Sydney’s financial district.Studying in the city gives you the chance to gain part-time work close to the campus and obtain valuable work experience. At the same time, working close to University means you can easily divide your time between it and study.
If you want variety, you can combine the experiences of studying at the Macquarie University campus with studying in the heart of Sydney’s financial district. Take this opportunity to get more out of your Australian study experience.

SIBT is currently located on Level 2, and has now expanded to include a new floor of classrooms and a common room on Level 3.

shanta-ratnam2.jpgShanta Ratnam, Lecturer ACST101
"I teach ACST101 at both SIBT campuses. The content, materials and assessments are exactly the same in the City. For me the difference is the environment and I enjoy the atmosphere of Sydney City. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to teach in both campuses. I like variety!"

veronica-norman2.jpgVeronica Norman, Lecturer ACCG100, ACCG101 and ACCG105
"I enjoy working at the SIBT City campus and really like the fact that SIBT is now giving students the opportunity to experience two different study locations. I don’t know of any other school that does this. Why not take advantage of this opportunity and choose units in both campus locations. The outcome is exactly the same but you get more experiences."

steve-erichsen2.jpgSteve Erichsen, Lecturer MKTG101
"SIBT Ryde is part of a very large student campus, which has all the features of a large university. The city is smaller and can be a good place to feel at home, while still achieving your same goals. The new student common room in the City will be a great place for students to interact socially and educationally. I teach Marketing at both campuses and feel that experiencing both styles of campus is a great advantage. Students now have more flexibility and can choose what’s convenient for their study program."
